Green Room Prayers

Prayers in the green room

hit different

when light is about to

shine,

when light is about to

hit hard,

when light it about to

pierce

the darkness.

Prayers in the green room

rise

behind the stage,

behind the spotlights,

to where only God sees and

to where only God hears,

to where only God makes

it a holy space.

Prayers in the green room

offered -

together -

with shaking hands

around a tight circle

with those who know

what's at stake,

what we're fighting for,

who we're fighting.

Prayers in the green room

bring

Holy Spirit

fire,

before Truth that brings Freedom

is brought on stage

to the broken,

to the hurting.

Now, Light is shining everywhere.
